Dit lied gaat over de eigenliefde, de hoofdpersoon kan hier zijn eigenliefde niet tot stand brengen. De band zingt over onze slechte gedachten. Deze slechte gedachten kunnen een monster worden waartegen we moeten vechten.

Iedereen heeft wel een lelijke kant die we het liefst verstoppen.

Hij zegt hier letterlijk kom niet te dichtbij, want hier schuilt mijn slechte kant. Hij waarschuwt een meisje dat hij een slecht persoon is, hij heeft dus geen liefde voor zichzelf en hij kan zijn goede kanten niet zien. Dit kan je vergelijken met een meisje met anorexia, ze is eigenlijk dun maar als ze in de spiegel kijkt vind ze dat ze dik is. Ze kan het zelf niet zien.
